[Ben Campbell] (0:00): Hello and welcome to today’s Community Spotlight where I introduce local companies I know and trust and introduce them to you. I’m your host Ben Campbell and today I’m here with my friend Oliver at MCAC. So, Oliver, how did you, oh and this is an accounting bookkeeping service, that’s the company here, so how did you get into this business?

[Oliver] (0:22): You know it goes back to when I was five, six years old. My mom was working in a small accounting firm in Switzerland and I would go with her every so often and that’s where I really started. I was exposed to it and that’s where I’m at, that’s what I’ve always done. You couldn’t get out of the industry, they just sucked you back in.

[Ben Campbell] (0:43): That’s what happened to me too, I’d go to my dad’s paint store and now the paint just sucked you back in.

[Oliver] (0:48): Funny how that goes.

[Ben Campbell] (0:49): Yeah, I know, so cool. What’s one thing everyone should know about hiring you?

[Oliver] (0:56): Well I grew up in Switzerland so I have the Swiss quality, I pay attention to detail and really do everything I can.

[Ben Campbell] (1:05): Good, good. I’ve never been to Switzerland but I’m going to go now. I think it’d be awesome but I’ve always said, I don’t know, first generation immigrants just work, they grind, they will just go, go, go. I’ve always appreciated that, it’s very much appreciated. What’s unique about this company?

[Oliver] (1:29): So, I would say that we help the Alaskan businesses, that’s where we want to help the most just because Alaska is such a unique place. You want to make sure that the Alaska stays in Alaska because so many places lose their personality.

[Ben Campbell] (1:48): Yes, they do, absolutely, and you guys are based here, you’re doing business here, you know the community here, absolutely. I’m a big proponent of whatever we can do to keep the money here too. We need to hire each other, we’re all here, right? We all have the services, let’s keep it here. What is your favorite movie?

[Oliver] (2:12): I’d have to say The Accountant.

[Ben Campbell] (2:16): The Accountant!

[Oliver] (2:17): It’s a cliche but have you actually seen it?

[Ben Campbell] (2:20): I haven’t, no.

[Oliver] (2:22): You need to watch it because it really showcases what an accountant can do, maybe a little bit less violence, a little bit less guns, but it just explains the process behind the scene fairly good.
