Dr. Rob is THE best!! I started seeing him 3 years ago, but then moved out of AK and have yet to find one that is equal to this practice! The staff are very friendly and helpful! Dr. Rob is very thorough and shows attention to detail, he recommended that I receive deep tissue massage (I saw HUGE improvements with my day-to-day lifestyle with my shoulder and lower back) and even gave me exercises and stretches that I still add to my daily workouts! He is so knowledgeable and I would learn something new every time I was seen by him! I don’t normally write reviews, but I really feel that this place deserves it!

I love this place! I am a professional, I train full time and my body takes a brutal beating! Dr. Jake Rammell keeps me tuned up with regular adjustments and time on the recovery laser. They have helped me through knee and neck injuries and made sure I was ready to compete on fight night!

Dr. Rob is absolutely fantastic! I ruptured two discs in 2012, and after seeing a parade of medical doctors, I was told they couldn’t do anything for me. A friend suggested going to a chiropractor and Dr. Rob came in on a Sunday just to adjust me. After that first adjustment, I was finally out of pain and could sit down. Dr. Rob also diagnosed a hip injury before my regular doctor did. Dr. Rob cares about the whole person and his attitude and compassion for his patients is unmatched by any physician I’ve been to. Also, Abby is the best for active therapy!

[Ben Campbell] (0:01): Okay, so hello and welcome to today’s Community Spotlight where I interview local companies I know and trust and introduce them to you. I’m your host Ben Campbell and today I am with Dr. Jake with Laurel Street Chiropractic and Rehab. So, Dr. Jake, how did you get into this business?

[Dr. Jake] (0:20): I got into this business, so I’m a strongman powerlifting competitor and about ten years ago I was having extreme pain in my arm and I went to a chiropractor up in Fairbanks and he did some soft tissue work, some adjustments and worked with me for a couple months and the pain was gone and that’s when I knew I need to be a chiropractor.

[Ben Campbell] (0:40): Yeah.

[Dr. Jake] (0:40): I applied for school.

[Ben Campbell] (0:41): And so, a lot of strongmen probably really need chiropractors. Strongman competitors? I would think that’s a very good market for chiropractors. So, good. So, what’s one thing everyone should know about hiring you as a chiropractor?

[Dr. Jake] (0:59): One thing about hiring me as a chiropractor is we’re very specific with what we do. We don’t do the same adjustment on everyone. We make individualized plans and we truly fix the problem. We just don’t mask it, you know, with band-aids and things. We’re gonna help you get better.

[Ben Campbell] (1:17): Fantastic. That’s good. It’s a little bit, it goes a little bit off to the other one, but what’s like, what’s unique about this clinic and you, you know, what would you say is unique about it?

[Dr. Jake] (1:27): We spend the time, we listen. We have laser treatment here, which is great for inflammation and accelerating healing. We have excellent massage therapists. We have a rehab section where after we get you out of pain, we’re going to help re-educate the body and help you feel better.

[Ben Campbell] (1:46): So, everything like in-house?

[Dr. Jake] (1:47): That’s, everything’s here.

[Ben Campbell] (1:48): That’s, that’s really good. That’s fantastic. Okay, this is my favorite question. What is your favorite movie?

[Dr. Jake] (1:55): I actually just watched it over the weekend and it was the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series.

[Ben Campbell] (2:01): I love it. I love it. My wife will not let me watch it. I love those series. She’s like, I’m not watching this. I love that. That’s like my favorite. I love, everyone says, yeah, you’re a nerd. You like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, all these sci-fi movies. I’m like, whatever. They’re awesome.

[Dr. Jake] (2:16): They’re great.

[Ben Campbell] (2:18): Yeah, that’s, that’s perfect. Okay, what’s the best way for them to reach you?

[Dr. Jake] (2:23): The best way, we have a website. We have Instagram that you can reach us that way. We’re just giving us a phone call and we’ll set up an appointment and I can have a consultation and walk you through and see if this is a great option for you.
